SRI LANKA

BEGINNINGS IN SRI LANKA (2011)

The first two Sisters to start the presence in Sri Lanka arrived on August and October of 2011 in Negombo.  They were welcomed and stayed for some time in the novitiate house of the Capuchin Fathers and started to learn the local language Singhala.  Later they transferred to a rented house until Christmas of 2011.  When the community was complete, they moved to a house adjacent to St. James Parish in Madampella, Katana, Negombo which was offered by the Archdiocese of Colombo.  The community will be a formation house for the vocations coming from India and Sri Lanka.

At present they collaborate in the parish work where they have been very much welcomed and which gives them an avenue to have a very close contact with the reality of the people.
