MISSION “AD GENTES”

The Colombian Guajira, where our sisters arrived in 1905, was the first missionary destination outside of Spain and, faithful to what Father Luis wrote in our first Constitutions, the missionary spirit “ad gentes” has been kept alive in our Religious Family and today we are present in de-Christianized sectors or with an incipient faith.

Having as the main objective of our mission to accompany the people in their search for God and to manifest and announce to them the message of salvation of the Gospel, we try to do it after the example of Francis of Assisi, with a lifestyle that is a sign, from personal and the experience of fraternity. With an attitude of minority and humility, we try to welcome each person, respecting their culture and religiosity, seeking in them the footprints of Christ and trying to adapt to the reality in which we find ourselves (cf. Dir. 48 and 49).
